Located in central Texas, the community of Kingsland offers residents affordable real estate and a low cost of living that have both contributed to a significant increase in population since 2000. Kingsland is a census-designated place (CDP) that is located in Llano County. The community is about 50 miles to the east of Austin and 85 miles to the north of San Antonio. Among the most notable landmarks and tourist attractions in Kingsland are the Antlers Hotel, Queen Anne architecture, and "The Slab".

Shopping and Dining

Residents of Kingsland real estate can purchase grocery items at the H-E-B located on Ranch Road. The Kingsland Pharmacy on Ranch to Market and Bowen's Health Mart are both located in town, and purchases on pharmacy items can be made at these stores. For larger shopping excursions, Kingsland residents can head to Barton Creek Square in Austin, the Lakeline Mall in Cedar Park, or The Gateway Shopping Center in Austin.

Grand Central Cafe is a popular restaurant located on King Court in Kingsland. There are also several Mexican restaurants located in town, including El Brasero Mexican Restaurant on Ranch to Market and Tamale King on State Route 29. There are also fast food restaurants located in town where residents and visitors can get a quick bite to eat. Two fast food restaurants in Kingsland are Subway on Ranch to Market and Sonic Drive-In on RR 1431.

Parks and Recreation

Kingsland Community Park is a natural area in Kingsland that is located near the banks of the Llano River. "The Slab" is another popular attraction in the community where residents can enjoy the outdoors. The Slab is located where the Llano River crosses a group of granite boulders and slabs, and it provides visitors with a pleasant area for swimming or sunbathing. Two larger natural areas located near Kingsland are Inks Lake State Park and Longhorn Cavern State Park, both or which are located to the northeast of town.

Kingsland has its own golf course that provides outdoor recreation. The Legends Golf Course is a par 72 course that is surrounded by LBJ Lake. The Kingsland Community Center is another recreational resource in the community. The Kingsland Convention and Community Center serves as a venue for special events and a meeting facility for Kingsland's residents.

Living

As of 2010, the population of Kingsland was recorded at 6,030. Between 2000 and 2010, the population of this Texas community increased by 31.5 percent. Residents of the community enjoy a low population density and plenty of open space for enjoying the outdoors. Statistically, the age of Kingsland's population is somewhat high in comparison to the rest of the state. The median home value in Kingsland was recorded at $92,257 in 2012, making Kingsland real estate significantly less expensive than real estate in the rest of Texas on average. Although median home values in Kingsland are fairly low, they have been rising steadily from $71,900 since 2000 as the popularity of the community as a place of residence has increased.

Schools, Health, and Transportation

Public schools in Kingsland are run by the Llano Independent School District. The community is the location of the Packsaddle Elementary School. However, older students residing in Kingsland real estate are bussed to the nearby community of Llano, where they can study at Llano Jr. High School. The Llano Independent School District operates four schools: Llano High School, Llano Junior High School, Llano Elementary School, and Packsaddle Elementary School. The district's educational institutions serve Sunrise Beach Village, Horseshoe Bay, and rural areas of Llano County in addition to Kingsland.

Burnet County Community Residence, which is located about 12 miles away in Marble Falls, is a hospital offering healthcare services to those in and around Kingsland. The Scott & White- Kingsland Clinic located on FM 2342 offers family medical services in Kingsland. Also, there are many more doctors offices offering family medical services in nearby Marble Falls, which is about 20 minutes from Kingsland real estate.

There is no public transportation in Kingsland. However, there are several smaller airports located near town. These include the Kingsland Estates Airport, the Flying H Ranch Airport, and the Shirley Williams Airport.
